BART LINDSTROM

Born in Riverside California, Bart Lindstrom was raised to appreciate the outdoors and art. After graduating from the University of Southern California, he started to work in an advertising firm. Realizing that this was not his passion, and with additional studies at the Art Center in Pasadena, he started painting. After moving to Texas and selling limited editions of his watercolors, the work of Mr. Lindstrom started to take off. Later in his career, he started to do more and more oil paintings, which is currently his primary medium.

Along the way, Bart has taught graduate art at the University of Texas, lectured and demonstrated at the Portrait Art Festival and taught at the Art Student’s League in New York City and at the National Portrait Seminar. He is a nationally recognized artist, conference speaker and former board member of the American Society of Portrait Artists.

Mr. Lindstrom’s paintings hang in State and Federal courtrooms. Among his prominent collectors are: United States Senators William Armstrong and Jesse Helms, Tennessee Governor Ned McWherter, Roots author Alex Haley, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pro golfer Nancy Lopez, former Vice President Dan Quayle and former Secretary of State General Colin Powell. Mr. Lindstrom recently finished a portrait for the Bush family.

Mr. Lindstrom’s work has appeared in Southwest Art, Prints Magazine, Art Voice/South, American Artist Magazine and International Artist Magazine. A feature article in Southwest Art Magazine stated: “Bart Lindstrom is an artist who exhibits a rare quality in revealing the inner essence of his subjects. He seems to have exploited the medium to its utmost possibilities.”
