Anne was born in the Bronx, New York and grew up in upstate New York. She attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and graduated with a Bachelor`s Degree in Fine Art. Upon graduation Anne worked for the prestigious Maer and Murphy Co. in New York City. They specialize in Trompe l'oeil, murals, and marbleizing. One of the most influential work experiences came when she took a position with Tallix Sculpture Foundry in Beacon, N.Y.as a Patinist. The foundry casts and fabricates sculptures by some of the world`s most renowned contemporary artists, including names like Frank Stella, Roy Liechtenstein and William De Kooning.
In 1991, Anne moved to Oklahoma to pursue a career as a full time artist. The focus of her work is still life and figurative paintings in oil. Anne believes an artist needs to always be a student of their craft.She has studied with C.W. Mundy, Dan Gerhartz, Matt Smith and was awarded a scholarship to attend the Scottsdale Artist School to study with Sherry McGraw. Anne also attends life drawing classes and paints portraits weekly from with a group of fellow painters.Anne's work appeared in the March 2002 issue of Southwest Art Magazine's"Starting Your Collection" column, and then again in June 2002 as an "Artist to Watch." Anne has participated in several national art shows, including The Oil Painters of America, The Greenhouse Gallery Salon International, and American Women Artist`s Biannual Show. Anne has most recently been chosen as the recipient of the Shirl Smithson Memorial Scholarship by The Oil Painters of America.
