Nam Kei Nancy Yeung has been painting since she was five. Her early artistic training began in Beijing under the watchful eyes of her artistic mother, Jiang Yan and father Zuo Hui. After her marriage, she moved to Hong Kong where her art career continued with exhibitions in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, China, and Indonesia as well as conducting an art school. In 1994, she immigrated to the United States under the "Gifted and Talented" immigration program. In the United States, She has had several exhibitions of her work. One of her paintings was selected as the official poster for the Beijing "World Conference on Women."

Committed to an artistic sensibility, Nancy enthusiastically devotes her time in exploring the use of color through a minimal style to demonstrate the life force of survival and growth in her floral paintings. A flower is an ephemeral creature. It is important to capture the inner character of a plant and find the harmony between the tangible appearance and the abstract essence. A limited color palette helps Nancy manipulate the subtle interaction within colors. There is an urge to discover how powerful colors can amplify the nature’s life force. Hopefully, the viewers will be affected by this eternal life force expressed on a two-dimensional canvas. This expression makes a painting different from reality.

Painting is Nancy's passion and her lifetime commitment. Once this passion is visually realized, the flower in the painting gains a new life. It is generally perceived that a flower is beautiful, but how many of us can see and feel beyond the beautiful exterior to the spirit within?
