Gabriele Koenig-Rewis portrays her passion for beauty, simplicity and color in every work she paints. A classically trained artist from Hamburg, Germany, Gabriele has been studying and producing art for more than 20 years. She has traveled throughout the world as a corporate designer and now paints in oil from her home studio in Phoenix, Arizona.
Trained at the National Academy of Art and Graphic Design in Hamburg, Germany, Gabriele Koenig-Rewis received her degree from the National Academy in 1982 and was recognized as one of the best new designers in North Germany that year. She was immediately recruited by Siemens AG where she worked teaching designers around the world how to create art and innovative graphic design on Siemens’ state-of-the-art computer systems.
After moving to the U.S., Gabriele Koenig-Rewis began taking workshops at the Scottsdale Artists’ School with nationally recognized artists Sherri McGraw, Greg Kreutz , Jean Chambers, Nancy Chaboun, Xiang Zhang, John Michael Carter, Bob Lemler, Joshua Fallik, Paul Leveille, Clint Hobart, Henry Stinson, Susan Diehl, Linda Glover Gooch and Bill Lundquist. She has won prizes in the school’s annual “Best and Brightest” show, a competition that draws entries from around the world, three times.
Gabriele’s figure pieces show her ability to quickly capture the beauty and soul of each person she paints, and results in an elegant representation of the individual’s spirit. In landscapes and still life, her European influence shows itself in both the scenes she chooses to paint and her lifetime obsession with color.
Gabriele is a member of the Portrait Society of America. Rive Gauche Art Gallery is proud to welcome Gabriele Koenig-Rewis.
